|
|
All Stocks, Sauces, Chutneys, Soups, Dips, Pesto’s,
Breads, Pastries, Desserts, Ice Creams, Sorbets are made in house by our
chefs. No Packets means no Artificial Preservatives, Stabilizers,
Colorants, Anti – Oxidants, Synthetic Flavourings, and the list goes on. A
commitment to fresh, daily produce, and only the highest quality meat &
fish means no worries; we know what is in our food. If you have any dietary
requirements, or allergies (Celiac, Dairy, Nut etc) please just make us
aware and we will do whatever possible to meet them. We are continually
striving to prepare, cook and bake everything on our menu in house, ours is
a ‘working kitchen’, and we hope you enjoy the fruits of our labours.

BEEF from the Scottish Highlands
|
|
All beef prepared in our kitchen is Aberdeen Angus
supplied by Millers of Speyside. An oasis of
rich pastures among the mountains of the Cairngorm National Park is suited to
the production of premium Scottish Beef. The skills of breeding and
finishing have been refined over generations to produce some of Scotland’s very finest beef. The cattle are reared outdoors and whose diet
contributes to the Aberdeen Angus flavour that has become famous throughout
the world. Valued for its ability to lay fine layers of fat known as
‘marbling’ throughout the muscle fibres, this growth process ensures the
perfect balance of fat and lean.

|
PORK from Lincolnshire
|
|
Grasmere Farm is a family business which takes pride
in its traditional quality pork and bacon products. The pigs are reared on
stone ground meal, milled at the farm’s 18th Century Watermill, Maxey Mill, on the
River Welland. By using only own farm herds they ensure a consistent
tender taste of the past. At Grasmere Farm, quality, flavour and tenderness
can be guaranteed due to carefully controlled cereal diets, a friendly
environment and modern processing facilities. ‘Can you taste the
difference’?

|
EGGS
|
|
All eggs used in cooking in our kitchen come from
Bob’s smallholding in Wing where he breeds Champion birds (Guinea Fowl,
Ducks, Geese and Chickens) some of which also end up on the menu here at
the Kings Arms. All are free range and delivered on a daily basis. Eggs are
accredited with British Lion Mark 1; they don’t get any fresher or better.
|
|
ICE CREAMS
|
|
All Ice Creams and Sorbets are made in our kitchen using
only fresh fruit, A Grade Vanilla Pods, quality chocolates and authentic
spirits and liquors. Ice Creams are made using pasteurised egg yolks. When
churning the ice cream we incorporate no more than 20-25% air in order not
to dilute the flavour of the ingredients - often a problem found in mass
produced ice creams where legally up to 50% of air may be allowed. So why
not try some Real Ice-cream. ‘The Proof is in the
Pudding’.

|
OYSTERS FROM NORFOLK
|
|
Thornham Rock Oysters are grown in the natural salt
marsh creeks that meander from the North Sea into Thornham Harbour. When the oysters reach maturity they are hand-picked and brought ashore for cleaning
and grading before being purified by UV treatment in accordance with
hygiene regulations.
